sharon danley here with another twominute tip today we're going to talk eyebrows and gel liner for the 65 + group in my case 65-plus but who'scounting i have most of my makeup on but i'veleft my eyebrows and my underminer to demonstrate today how to fill them in aswe age. and my face is a good example.
best lip color for over 50, this side of my face has fallen and tends to shrink or is a little bit smaller than this side of my face. if we zoom in to my eyebrows you can see that this brow here tends towant to fall down more than this brown
so the trick is to bring this up or togive it a bit of a lift so that it matches the other one without makingthem twins. i'm using a pebble colored eyebrowpencil that i'm going to draw in the shape and i'll draw it first to show youwhere i will put this line. and i also need to bring it in closer in order toline up with the front part of my eye. as we age this part of our brow tends todisappear with time. fortunately i still have enough on theend of my brow so i just need to feel that in a little bit. so now i'm going to go back in and i'mgoing to fill this area making feather
light strokes with the pencil. and when we pull back you can see how the weight of thateyebrow fits in better with my face now than the other side - and it has beenlifted up. now what i'm going to do with the otherside is to fill it in approximately exactly as it is except on this brow i'm going to bring it forward a littlebit more too and just fill in and make sure that the underside has a good strongline to it - they're like strokes.
now and i pull back we can see that they have a bit more weight to them, but i'm not finished yet. now i'm going to take some taupeeyeshadow and a flat edged angled brush and i'm going to just fill in and mixthe taupe with the gray pencil just to give it a little bit more definition. nowfor daytime i wouldn't add as much weight but forthe evening and in low light i would add a little bit more and make thebrows stronger. so i fill them in like so and then take a little spoolie brush andjust go over to diminish any harsh lines that mayhave been caused to think this one may
be just a little darker ok so when we pull back can see now that my brows give me more strength and our in line more with the shape of my face soi pulled this brow up and they give me a little bit more weight which is bringingback more of a youthful look and i brought them in a little bit further sothat they they are filled in and just complimenting the overall look of theface. for an underliner i don't like to usepencil. i find the wax in pencils tends to melt and it just doesn't look good intime. what i like to use - againfor the 45 plus group - is a taupe to gray
gray shadow and a little brush likethis that i just apply at the bottom. so i'm going to just zero in here a littlebit on one i show you what i mean. i'm going to just go to the outside hereunderneath the lash line like so - so its soft it's not too strong it gives me theweight that i need but in a soft, soft way. and i haven'trimmed the inside part of the lower lid but i could do that if i wanted to for more of an evening look or somethingthat you just want to have a stronger look. oops sorry about that now this is wherei would tend to use the gel liner or you could use powder as well and you can seehow that compared with the two eyes
gives you even more drama. ok let me do the other eye and thenwe'll do the top hi i'm back. i forgot to do the gel lineron the underside of the upper lid so this is an insert. we're going to take acloser look at my eye and when you see the underside you see that white alongthere? well in older gals, when they arephotographed and i'm i don't understand why they don't see this but when theyphotograph them - because they curl their lashes and there's a lot of extra skinthat starts to come down as we age - when the lashes are curled the underside ofthe upper lid is revealed.
and unless that's covered, it tends to make one look older than is necessary. so i likethe gel liner for this purpose because once it's in place and it dries, itstays quite well for actually the rest of the day. so i'm going to use just asimple little brush like this. going to dip it into my gel liner and i'm goingto apply it just along the ridge there and i'm goingto go right into the corner of my eye like so. and when i step back you can seea slight difference in that and especially if my eyes are our up oryou're coming from underneath or whatever. so now i'm just going to do theother side. then as i said earlier if you
want to dramatize your eyes just alittle bit more for evening wear you can put just a little bit on thelower lash line and that really gives you the pow and the punch that you needfor that hot date. and while we're doing inserts we may aswell add one more point. another thing that i like to do with thegel liner when you're still some left on my brush and it because i don't curl mylashes and put mascara on before i put on my false lashes i save time doing that. so i still needto cover my own lash hair though because at this stage is quite light compared tothe false lashes.
so while i'm putting on my gel liner isimply with what's left of my brush i simply sweep across the top of thefalse lash - just sweeping across like a windshield covering with what's left onthe brush my own lashes so they blend in really well with the false lash. i thinkthat's the last of the inserts. ok, i've done both eyes underminer. remember an eyeshadow powder is best on the outside brought in and blended andyou can do the use of powder or a gel liner on the inside rim if you want more drama for your eye. sonow i'm going to put lighter on the top and again we'll just zero in one eye and going to use this time a combination
of a taupe and a slate gray and just apinch of black. (let me make sure you can see me) and i'm going to just goalong the edge and deposit most of this along the lash line and then work it up. blending is really important you'veheard me say many times about weighting the outside of the eye - the outside corner. well this is what i'm talking about putting the weight there. now when we pull back from here i havethe weight of an eyeliner but not the harshness of an eyeliner. i'll pull in again just so you can seethis - i guess i better lift those folds out of
the way but you can see it's notdramatic - it's dramatic but it's not harsh andthat's the difference. ok i'm going to do the same on the othereye - gray, taupe and black and again depositing most of the weightalong the lash line and then blending and you want more drama it's later in theevening or you're going out after work or you're going to have an evening withthe gals are your best beau - just a little bit more weight with eyeshadow - notlighter not liquid liner not gel liner on the top and you still get your dramabut it's a soft drama that is
appropriate for our age range and itreally does help with the combination of the eyebrows city where they should andthe eyeliner done the correct way it really helps to give a lift to theeye. and also remember what i said about highlighting the inside corner i use a combination of up of my dualfinish powder foundation and then just put an illuminating eyeshadow mixed inwith it pop that in the corners and that helpsto lift the eye.

so that's the eyebrow tip and the gelliner tip today why did i bother when i've got bangs? well you never know in the wind is going
to blow. hope that helps we'll see you next time.
