hello everyone this is breanna rutter authorof the book the natural hair bible and founder of howtoblackhair.com and for these specialvideos i love to answer all of the questions you all send me via email so any of you haveany questions you like for me to answer be sure to check out the description box belowfor additional information so without further ado are going to jump right into the videoin this video is inspired by email i received
best over the counter shampoo for colored hair, from morgan, morgan emailed me because shereally wants to dye her hair a dark blonde color but she is deathly afraid of sufferinghair damage so she wants to know if hair dye is damaging on her hair and if she shouldgo ahead and dye her hair and if it will still be healthy so what i want to do is to giveyou some tips and suggestions and hair care
advice by helping you in regards to dyingyour hair and yes of course you can still have healthy hair as well so first what iwant to address is that yes inherently hair dye is damaging to hair but when you dye yourhair that doesn't mean you're going to suffer with hair damage so what i mean by this isby nature any chemical treatments you're going to put once your hair is damage on your hairis inflicting damage on your hair so even if your dying your hair to achieve a differentcolor your chemically altering the state of your hair so your hair is going to be strippedand its defense is going to be weakened in different ways so what's going to happen iswhen hair dye is being put onto your hair what̢۪s going on is that the hair dye isreaching deep inside the hair shaft or hair
follicle and it's replacing your natural melanincolor that's already in your hair with a new color because this treatment is so invasiveon your hair this often leads you to lose in some natural protein that makes up thestructure of your hair and also this chemical treatment is going to weaken your hair's abilityto be able to maintain moisture so when you dye your hair its always common that you follow-upsome type of deep conditioning treatment or protein treatment to get your hair back toa healthy state so yes by nature hair dye is damaging because it's a chemical treatmentthat you're putting on your hair and then at the same time you can still have healthyhair if you follow-up with the right practices to make sure that you're going to have wellmoisturized and balanced hair with protein
as well so another tip that i'm going to giveis that i highly discouraging you or anyone to dye their hair if you know you are lazywhen it comes to taking care of your hair if you know you're not sleeping at night witha silk scarf all the time for you adding moisture to your hair when its all extra dry or you'renot manipulating your hair properly and you are just rushing through your hair if youknow you already have bad haircare practices dying your hair will only worsen the troublesso if you're the sole person that takes care of your hair and you're very good at doingthese things make sure your consulting with a professional in your area to dye your hairfor you and to give you some extra tips as well to help you to take care of your hairbut of course you are just going to make sure
that you are following up with proper treatmentsto care for your hair even though it's dyed and also if someone else's dying your hairfor you consult with them on what color will go best with your complexion and some thingsthat they suggest for you to do specifically to help you with your specific hair needswhether or not you choose to dye your hair or not and last but not least tip number threeremember to keep in mind how light your hair color will be and the strength of the colorlift because this can cause damage on your hair so if you're going to lose very lightcolors especially those blonde colors what you're doing is a your pretty much a bleachingyour hair to achieve a certain level of brightness and also if you choose to do other vibrantcolors like reds and blues or even greens
what you have to do is bleach your hair totake out that melanin deposit and have pretty much a blank white canvas to deposit a colorthat you would like so by bleaching your hair this is going to inflict a lot of damage onyour strands and you specifically wanted to know in regards to hair dye because you wantto dye your hair a dark blonde color so you're pretty much going to be stepping into thearea of a permanent hair color treatment but there's plenty of other options as well likesemi-permanent rinses and even natural plant dies you can do with your hair so becauseyou're going into the realm of doing a chemical not chemical by a permanent hair color onyour hair you want to make sure that you are doing the necessary steps keep your hair moisturizedand balanced as well with protein and keep
in mind that yes by nature hair dye is causingdamage but that doesn't mean you're going to have damage here because you dyed yourhair just going to make sure you're taking care of your hair and in the meantime so ihoped this video has helped you to give you a direction as to what you want to do withyour hair and if you still want to dye your

hair and i hope this video has helped anyoneelse was watching as well and before you go make sure to sign up for my email is to beautomatically answered for any giveaways that i do and only their you will receive exclusivecontent so until then i will see you all in my next video
