inside of this cartridge there are 3sponges. one for each color. cyan magenta and yellow the sponge contains the ink the sponge is made of a material called hydrophobic foam.
hp 110 tri color inkjet print cartridge, it's a synthetic porous rubber imbued with water-repelling agents hydrophobic foam repels ink rather than absorbing it and controls the ink flow inside the cartridge.
put the cartridge on an area where you can tolerate a spill, or on some newspaper remove the label from top of the cartridge. now the filler opening is visible you'll see several holes. if you are not sure which is the right refilling hole stick a needle down into each chamber then wipe with paper to check out thecorrect filling hole. during refilling a little ink might comeout of the top to the cartridge, if full. so cover up the other refilling holes to avoid contamination.
fill the syringe with a maximum of 5 milliliters of color ink insert the needle into the cartridge enough to penetrate the internal sponge. you will notice a slight resistance this is due to the sponge inside thecartridge very slowly inject the ink into the cartridge. if the hole is too small for thesyringe you can use a knife to widen it for filling. ensure that you stop if the ink rises to the top of the filler opening in this case, draw a little back into the syringe
when finished you can leave the toplabel off, and the filling holes exposed the cartridge has to pull in air, or it will not works remove the tape over the other refillingopenings replace the cartridge and run a cleaningcycles for best results leave cartridge inprinter for two hours after refilling so the ink can saturate the entire sponge. after reinserting the refilled cartridge, your printer may show an error message saying that the cartridge is empty. this is because the printer knows that cartridge
from the serial number and knows it tobe empty. you can only replace the cartridge with another refilled one
or follow the reset instructions. if the print is poor, the printhead of the cartridge may be blocked with dried ink if you need to clean the cartridge follow the instructions of this video.
