this video shows the most common way to setup your hp printer so you can use it for faxing. to send and receive faxes using your hp printer,you must first set up the hardware for your printer. begin by plugging the printer's power cordinto a wall outlet. turn to the back of the printer.
hp color laserjet cm2320 mfp toner, connect the other end of the power cord intothe printer. return to the front of the printer. press the power button and make sure the printerturns on and is in a ready state. connect a phone cable into an available telephonejack. if you are using a dsl filter, you must
connect it to the telephone jack first andthen plug the phone cable into the dsl filter. turn to the back. connect the other end of the phone cable intothe fax port on your printer. the fax port is the third port from the top on the rightside of the printer. next to the port will be a symbol for a phone cable. if you don't have a telephone and telephoneanswering machine to connect, you are done setting up your printer for faxing. if youdo have a telephone and telephone answering machine to connect, go on to the next step. if present, remove the plastic insert fromthe telephone port. this port is the second
port from the top on the right side of theprinter. next to this port will be a symbol for a telephone. plug a telephone cord into this telephoneport. plug the other end of the telephone cord intothe answering machine's line port. when using a telephone answering machine, makesure you change the printer's rings-to-answer setting to at least one more ring than thenumber of rings for which the answering machine is set. those instructions are not shown inthis video. to connect a telephone, plug a telephone cordinto the answering machine's telephone port. plug the other end of the telephone cord intothe telephone's line port. after you have
