on how to create easyhighlights for brown hair to get honey or caramelhighlights at home. before you start, we need to makesure we have the right shade. if you are mostly grey, then you'llneed to choose a golden shade. our sun kissed line is perfect for you. if you have little or no grey,or just a little bit of grey, then reach for an ashor paler blonde shade. there's a whole rangeof nice n' easy shades. just look for "ash" in the name.
here's an insider tip-- ash kills brass. when you need to lighten yourhair, it exposes warm tones. these warm tones can look brassy. the ash counteracts thoseunwanted brassy tones. got it? for sara beth, we useda paler blonde shade-- shimmering sands light blonde9pb, which is two levels lighter than her current hair color. are you ready?
let's get into it. first, put on your gloves. open bottle number 1 and pour itscontents into bottle number 2. shake thoroughly until the colormixture is totally blended. ok, it's time to color. starting at the roots, use theapplicator tip to apply color mixture immediately to dry, unwashed hair. work through the hair from rootsto tip to ensure full saturation. start your timer. leave the color mixtureon for 25 minutes. here's another tip. to get even color, sometimes you needto think about your roots and your ends differently. if you're coloring everyone to three months, you need to do it a little differentlyto get even root-to-tip color. and this is probably the case formost of you colorers out there. so what we're going to dois we're going to apply
the color product to your rootsfirst and leave it on for 20 minutes. then you're going to bring it through toyour ends for the last 5 to 10 minutes only. i recommend doing it this way becausethe roots need more time to color, and the rest does not need as long. this can help prevent excessive hairdamage and that awful color buildup. time's up. when your color is finished processing, rinse, shampoo, and condition with cc plus colorseal conditioner.
use the leftover conditionerabout once a week until it's all gone to help youpreserve your new, shiny hair color, and you'll stay glossy and fabulous. honey blonde is sucha fresh modern look. you'll be sure tostand out in any crowd.
