hi i'm donna wolfe from naztazia.com todayi'm going to show you how to make an awareness ribbon wreath. to view this video in otherlanguages, just click on the closed caption link on youtube and turn on subtitles. fromthere you can choose from over 100 different languages. to begin, you will need about 50yards of tulle. you can find tubes of tulle in the ribbon or bridal section of most craftstores. and you'll need a 16 inch plain wreath.
bone cancer awareness ribbon color, first, take the tulle and cut it into strips.the size you make will depend upon the thickness of your wreath. i'm using 27" strips for mywreath, but you might need more or less for yours. i just take the first strip and useit as a template for the rest of the strips. these strips do not need to be perfect. youcan use a single color or multiple colors,
but ultimately, you will need about 60 stripsof tulle for your wreath. next we're going to attach the tulle to the wreath. fold thestrip of tulle in half like this. then insert the loop part in the middle of the wreath.open up the loop, then insert the two strands over the wreath and through the loop. thenpull tightly to secure. then move on to the second strip of tulle. same process, foldin half, insert loop part inside the wreath. open loop, then insert the ends through theloop and tighten. here is my completed tulle. you can take scissors and trim the tulle ifit is uneven in spots. next is the ribbon. download and print out this ribbon templatefrom my website: naztazia.com first, cut out the paper ribbon template. i'm using pinkfoam from the kids section of my local craft
store. if this wreath is for outdoor use,you might need to use something more water resistant like wood or vinyl instead. placethe paper template on the foam and trace around it. then take your scissors and cut out theribbon shape from the foam. you can add some stick-on pearls or gems to your ribbon aswell. these are nice because them come off in strips and they have glue on the bottom.i just carefully lay the pearls on the edging of the foam and press down to secure. foradded decoration, you can use inexpensive flower findings. they usually can be foundin the bridal section of craft stores. for words, most stores sell packaged wooden letters.use can use them natural, or apply some paint to them. if this wreath might be exposed tomoisture, it's best to use a paint designed
for outdoor use. you can use spray paint,or just take some paint and brush and paint the letters any color you want. next we'llmake the bow. take a book or something flat that is about 9 inches long. i'm using wiredribbon. it's ribbon with thin wires on both sides to help keep the ribbon's shape. startat the center of the book, and wrap the ribbon around it about 4 or 5 times. the more wrapsthe fuller the bow. cut it in the center again. then take a separate 15 inch piece of ribbonand gently tie it in the center and put it aside. now take either a piece of string oryarn or thin wire and pull off the ribbon from the book. find the center of the ribbonand squish it together a bit. take your string and wrap and tie it around the center of yourbow. i like to tie it a few times to make
a good knot. find that 15 inch piece of ribbonagain, and put the ribbon through the single tie you previously made. tighten the endsa bit. starting at the top, pull on each loop to open it up. separate the loops and pullon them to open them up. then repeat this process on the other side of the bow. pullon each loop to open it up. separate the loops and pull on them to open them up. you cancut the bottom of the ribbon ends on the diagonal to look more traditional. and you can cutthe excess ends of the string. now it's time to put all these pieces together. i use ahot glue gun for this project. you can use either low or high temp glue for these items.first i glue on the awareness ribbon. then i glue on the flower findings and place themnext to the ribbon. now it's time to individually
glue all of the letters onto the wreath. finally, glue the bow onto the top. i hope this video has helped you. please subscribe to my youtubechannel. check out the description of this video for more information. and please visitnaztazia.com for more tips and tricks on creative, self-sufficient living.
