what's up with ammoniathe good news is that ammonia is not that big of a deal, it's actually awesome!! whatare some things you might think of when you hear the word ammoniafertilizer: i add it to my garden & lawn, it helps everything grow.household cleaner: "streak free shine" cleaning products has ammonia in itthe famous "pink slime" beef: beef is treated
professional hair color without ammonia, with ammonia because it is highly antiseptic.it is added to your meat so you don't get e. coli which is cool with the us dept ofagriculture. ?!?? so as you can see, ammonia is everywhere andwithout it our lives would be very different. it is on us, around us and if you love foodlike we do, its even in us!! give ammonia
a chance!!so now that we have reminded you that you are surrounded by ammonia everywhere, everyday, lets talk about why we need it in hair dye. ammonia has been sent to us by the hair dyegods to help us achieve many different results. we need ammonia to:--lighten our natural hair color --to cover gray hair--to make hair dye permanent. you might be thinking, but "what about nonammonia dye", it does those things. oh the debates we've had over the years about this, everyone has their opinions. we will keep our opinions to ourselves & share with yousome basic knowledge. anytime you are using a permanent hair dye and it says "ammoniafree" it still has an ammonia like ingredient
inside of it.think of . . . indoor tanning (salonfree does not support any tanning) indoor tanning still allows you to get a tanwithout being in the sun but it acts just like the sun.indoor vs. outdoor tanning both can tan your skin and if you are whitelike us both can burn you. j both can fade your hair color, cause prematureaging and warm you up when you are cold the list goes on. . .just because it says non ammonia, you are smart enough to know that just like indoortanning, ammonia free dye will do the exact same thing as dye with ammonia.how does ammonia work? what is it doing to
my hair? a little hairstylist science for you. . .•ammonia is a gas made from nitrogen and hydrogen.•it is a colorless gas but it does have an odor.•ammonia is alkaline on the ph scale, so it causes the hair to "open up" your hairstrand has tons of little doors that ammonia helps open and let dye in!!so, what is the point of having ammonia in hair dye? without ammonia or an ammonia like ingredientwe would not be able to dye our hair certain colors.we need it to:
-dye our hair lighter: the hair needs to beopened up so that the peroxide and dye can enter and remove our natural color.-we could not cover gray hair: ammonia lets in the permanent dye molecules. once thatdye gets is in it will hold on for dear life. -without ammonia or an ammonia like ingredient, there would be no such thing as permanent hair dye. boooo!!!!why is ammonia in hair dye? •as we mentioned ammonia causes hair toopen up. this allows permanent dye to enter your hair and allow the "big change" to takeplace. •when hair dye is applied to the hair ammoniacauses it to swell open, which allows the tiny little dye molecules to get in there& as it processes or "cooks" those molecules
get so big they can't come back out the waythey came in. ammonia is pretty awesome when you think aboutit.
-it's everywhere around is, we don't needto be afraid of it. <3 <3 -it provides us with the ability to lightenour hair, cover our grays and make a permanent change to our hair!!so cheers ammonia, we here wouldn't be happy without you.http://www.salonfree.com/whats-up-with-ammonia/
